News: Elderly woman killed when driver runs red light in East End

HOUSTON, TX – A 74-year-old woman was killed on Wednesday when a driver ran a red light at an East End intersection and collided with her vehicle, KHOU reports.

The fatal crash happened at about 11 p.m. on April 21, at the intersection of Navigation Boulevard and 69th Street. Emergency responders took the elderly woman to a nearby hospital, where she later died.

The driver of the other vehicle admitted to running a red light, and agreed to submit to a blood test to check for intoxication. Police believe that individual may have been texting at the time of the collision, are continuing their investigations at this time.

No charges had been filed as of late yesterday morning.
