HOUSTON, TX – The woman responsible for the single-vehicle crash that took the life of a 25-year-old man last Friday is now facing charges in connection to the incident.
According to a report by the Houston Police Department, 24-year-old Estefina Vianey Franco lost control of her Honda Civic while navigating a turn within the 18200 block o South Park View Drive at about 11:35 p.m.
Franco’s vehicle collided with a median before coming to rest against a roadside tree. Her male passenger, whose identity is being withheld at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Franco was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Upon assessment, she was determined to be under the influence. She has since been taken into custody and is facing charges of intoxication manslaughter.
