News: Woman struck, killed while assessing damage from prior crash on I-45

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was struck and killed after she got out of her vehicle to assess the damage from a prior collision on I-45 early Sunday morning.

According to Click 2 Houston, officers were called to the scene at about 3;52 a.m. within the 11400 block of I-45, near the Sam Houston Tollway.

Police say the woman was involved in a suspected DWI crash between a Mustang and a Mazda. When she exited the Mustang, she was struck by an oncoming Toyota RAV-4.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two drivers involved were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
