MADISONVILLE, TX – A plan crash in Madisonville killed the pilot and injured five passengers on Monday morning, reports KTRK.
The crash occurred around 1 a.m. at the Madisonville Municipal Airport. Investigators believe the accident was caused by the plane clipping some trees as it attempted to land. It ended up being ripped in half.
Emergency crews found the pilot and passengers around the plane. The five injured passengers were all hospitalized. Apolo Diaz, 68, was the pilot who died.
The National Transportation Safety Board will be taking over the investigation and the injured parties will be identified through them.
