HOUSTON, TX – Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the driver who struck and killed a man near Hobby Airport earlier this month.
According to an HPD press release, 32-year-old Gabriel Rodriguez was fatally hit by a sedan in the 8600 block of Almeda Genoa Road at about 11:30 p.m. on July 3. The vehicle’s driver did not stop to render aid.
Rodriguez had apparently been intoxicated at the time, and had lain down in the driveway of Genoa Cemetery with his headphones on.
Police were called to the scene sometime later, after a passing driver noticed Rodriguez’s prostrate body. Paramedics pronounced Rodriguez dead at the scene, and say the cause was blunt force trauma.
Authorities are searching for a white 2010 Nissan Altima, although they have not released a description of its driver at this time.
We will continue to follow this developing story, and will provide further updates as possible.
