News: At least 1 dead following crash in Sugar Land

SUGAR LAND, TX – At least one person was killed in a car crash in Sugar Land on Saturday morning, reports KTRK.

An 18-wheeler hauling produce was driving north on the U.S. 59 frontage road at around 7 a.m., when it collided with a pickup truck near the intersection with Crabb River Rd.

The collision caused the 18-wheeler to overturn and both vehicles to burst into flames.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was able to escape his vehicle uninjured. The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene of the accident.

Neither the exact cause of the crash nor the number of people involved is clear at this time.
