HOUSTON, TX – A bicyclist was hit and killed on Westheimer Rd by a person driving a Nissan Maxima early Wednesday morning, reports KTRK.
At around 12:45 a.m., a silver Nissan Maxima was heading east on the 6200 block of Westheimer Rd when it struck the victim, a 25-year-old, as they were crossing the street on their BMX-style bicycle.
Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene and tried to give medical aid to the victim. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.
Police do not believe impairment played a factor in the collision and have not filed any charges at this time.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
