HOUSTON, TX – The driver responsible for a fatal collision in southeast Houston on Tuesday night is facing manslaughter charges, KHOU reports.
The accident occurred at bout 11:30 p.m. within the 800 block of Winkler Drive, near the intersection with Main Street.
Police say the driver of a Nissan Versa, 31-year-old Joshua Yante, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck.
Yante and his female passenger were both hospitalized in serious condition. The woman succumbed to her injuries later on.
All three occupants in the pickup truck, a couple and their 6-month-old baby, were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Yante has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter.
