HOUSTON, TX — A man was charged with DUI Monday for his role in a crash that killed a motorcyclist Saturday near the Edgebrook neighborhood in south Houston, according to Houston Police Department.
The fatal accident took place near the intersection of South Shaver Street and Wald Street at around 3:55 p.m.
A Honda motorcycle was heading eastbound on South Shaver Street when a Kia Soul turned from a stop sign at the Wald Street intersection. As the Kia crossed traveled over three lanes on South Shaver Street, the motorcyclist struck the Kia and was ejected from his bike.
The rider was taken to Clear Lake Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities determined the driver of the Kia was impaired at the time of the accident and arrested at the scene.
