News: Two injured in wrong-way crash near plaza in northeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX — Two people, including a District 2 deputy, were injured in a wrong-way collision late Thursday night near a shopping plaza in northeast Houston, according to KHOU 11.

According to police, the accident took place in the 5000 block of Aldine Mail Route Road.

A driver at the wheel of a Toyota sedan was heading west in the eastbound lanes of the road when it struck the front of the deputy’s patrol unit, crushing it in.

Both the deputy and the causing driver sustained minor injuries but are expected to fully recover.

An investigation remains in progress.
