HOUSTON, TX — A 76-year-old man died last Thursday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash near Cullinan Park in southeast Houston, according to Houston Police Department.
The accident took place at 6700 Long Drive on September 2nd at approximately 3:55 p.m.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division found that the man was driving a green GMC Envoy westbound in the eastbound lanes of Long Drive when his car hit a light pole. The vehicle then reversed, drove forward, and struck the pole a second time before traveling around the pole and coming to rest in the median.
The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
No other occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
An investigation remained in progress as of last Thursday.
