News: Driver injured after crashing into Halloween store in NW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A man was hospitalized early Saturday after crashing a pickup truck into a Halloween store in northwest Houston, reports OnScene.TV.

The incident occurred at TopDog Halloween on 20432 Northwest Freeway near the Wortham Grove area.

Firefighters responded to the crash where a silver GMC Sierra pickup truck had slammed into the building.

After crews extricated the driver from the wreck, the victim was transported by airlift to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Deputies said the man is expected to survive.

An investigation shows the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and that he had been speeding before his vehicle left the roadway.

No further information has been released on a possible cause of the crash.
