LIBERTY COUNTY, TX — Three bicyclists were hospitalized Saturday after being struck by a vehicle along Farm to Market Road 787 near south Rye, according to KHOU11.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the incident occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m.
A group of cross-country bicyclists was engaged in a yearly group ride when they were hit by an eastbound Ford Focus.
Two victims were transported by airlift to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont and a third victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Kingwood.
As of early Sunday morning, authorities have not confirmed whether or not any arrests have been made.
The event remains under investigation by the Texas DPS and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.
