HOUSTON, TX — A 26-year-old man died Saturday evening after a two-vehicle accident involving a DUI driver near Houston’s Langwood neighborhood, according to Houston Police Department.
The crash happened at 5500 Bingle Road shortly after 5:00 p.m. on October 9.
Authorities say a 23-year-old man was driving a red Dodge Dakota north on the road when he collided with a silver Toyota Rav4. The impact of the crash caused the Dodge to go airborne and hit a tree in the roadway’s median. The vehicle was then deflected back into the roadway where it struck the Toyota again.
The Dodge’s male passenger died from his injuries at the scene.
The causing driver of the Dodge, who had been ejected from the vehicle, was transported to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Two occupants in the Toyota, including a 63-year male driver and a 65-year-old female passenger, were not reported injured.
Authorities say the causing driver was later charged with DUI after officers observed him showing signs of intoxication.
