HOUSTON, TX — A woman was arrested for suspected DWI early Tuesday after crashing her SUV into a pole and a building in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood, according to KHOU11.
Houston police said the crash happened on Kirby Drive near the Westheimer Road intersection shortly after midnight.
A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was driving at high speed when she crashed into a light pole and a restaurant in the process of opening. A witness who attended to the woman immediately after the impact said the driver still had her foot on the gas.
The woman, who had been alone in her vehicle, was not reported injured.
Responding officers took the driver into custody and booked her into jail for an investigation into DWI.
