HOUSTON, TX — A 68-year-old man died last Friday evening after a two-vehicle crash on the South Loop East Freeway near Houston’s South Side, according to Houston Police Department.
The accident occurred in the 4400 block of the freeway on December 10 at around 5:25 p.m.
According to HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division, the man was driving westbound in a gold Chevrolet Trailblazer when he drifted out from his lane and struck the back of a white Honda Pilot.
After the crash, the female driver of the Honda got out from her car and observed the victim unconscious behind his wheel.
Houston Fire medics rushed the victim to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
An investigation remains ongoing, but authorities believe the victim was suffering a medical emergency moments before the fatal crash.
