HOUSTON, TX – According to the police, a driver fatally collided with a female pedestrian at 19000 Gulf Fwy Tuesday.
The victim, a 29-year-old woman, was driving a Ford F-150 north on the Gulf Fwy when her right front tire came off. She pulled over to the shoulder and exited the vehicle to call her friends.
At around 7:40 p.m., the driver of a Toyota Tacoma swerved to avoid striking the F-150 but struck it and the victim.
First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Officers do not believe impairment was a factor in the collision. They questioned and released the driver.
The incident is under investigation.
