HOUSTON, TX — Two young children and two adults were injured early Saturday in a two-vehicle collision on Hardy Toll Road in north Houston, according to FOX 26 Houston.
The accident happened near the Rankin Road intersection at approximately 1:30 a.m.
According to investigators, the events unfolded when a vehicle carrying a family of four crashed into a k-rail. One adult male occupant in the front passenger seat grabbed the wheel when it struck another k-rail, causing the vehicle to roll across the roadway.
Moments later, the man and two young girls believed to be aged 2 and 4 had exited their car when they were struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The man and the two girls suffered life-threatening injuries and were rushed to a local hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized. No further details have been released on their condition.
It was not immediately clear whether the driver of the first vehicle was injured in the incident.
An investigation was underway.
