HOUSTON, TX – A man has died of injuries he sustained in a collision in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood last Thursday, the Houston Police Department reports.
The unidentified 58-year-old man was driving a gray Ford Explorer west in the 6500 block of Lawndale Street shortly before noon on January 13 when he lost control of the vehicle. The Explorer crossed into the oncoming lanes, crashed through a fence and into some bushes on the south side of the roadway, and came to a rest on the grounds of the Villa de Matel Convent.
EMS took the critically injured man to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center. He passed away there on Tuesday, January 18.
His identity has been withheld pending family notification.
