Man fatally hit after exiting car on N Sam Houston Pkwy in NE Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A man was killed early Tuesday when he was hit by vehicles after exiting his disabled car on North Sam Houston Parkway in northeast Houston, according to ABC13 Houston.

The fatal incident occurred on the parkway’s eastbound feeder road, between Wilson Road and John Ralston Road, at around 5:00 a.m.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the man was driving eastbound when his vehicle appeared to have struck a guardrail, which brought his car to a stop in a main travel lane. Moments later, another driver collided with the man’s stalled car, and then a third driver hit the man, who had gotten out of his car.

Authorities confirmed the victim, believed to be in his 20s, died from his injuries at the scene.

A section of the eastbound feeder road was shut down during the emergency response but was cleared at around 8:20 a.m., more than three hours later.

No further details have been released at this time.
