HOUSTON, TX — A man died early Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle moments after exiting his disabled car in northwest Houston’s Greater Inwood area, according to Houston Police Department.

The fatal crash occurred at 6798 West Little York Road at approximately 5:35 p.m.

According to HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division, the man was driving a gray Toyota Corolla onto the nearby esplanade as it was becoming disabled. He then got out of his car and began crossing the intersection when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Trailblazer heading eastbound on West Little York.

The victim died from his injuries at the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the Chevrolet stayed after the crash and was questioned before being released. He was not suspected of impairment.
