HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man died last Friday when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck making an improper turn near John Paul Landing Park in Cypress, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened in the 8900 block of Katy Hockley Cut Off Road near West Road on November 12 at around 6:50 a.m.
According to the HCSO, a man was behind the wheel of a white 2015 Ford F-350 with an attached utility trailer northbound and was in the left turn-only lane. Another man was also northbound on the road, riding a black 2012 Yamaha V Star motorcycle. As the driver of the pickup reached the intersection, he positioned his vehicle into the northbound lane to turn left onto West Road. As he began to turn, the front-left of the motorcycle hit the left side of the F-350. Authorities said the F-350 driver had made an improper left turn from the wrong lane.
Medics arrived to find the motorcyclist deceased at the scene.
No information has been released about any pending charges, but the case remains under investigation by the HCSO’s Vehicular Crimes Division.
