MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – A man in his 30’s was killed and his child was hospitalized following a crash on Fish Creek Thoroughfare a on Wednesday night, reports KTRK.
An 18-wheeler was driving on Fish Creek Thoroughfare just south of FM-2854 at around 8:50 p.m. yesterday, when its airline malfunctioned and its brakes locked up.
The driver stopped, turned on his hazard lights, and exited the vehicle in order to check on his truck.
As he did so, a red Subaru crashed into the back of the truck.
Responding firefighters had to raise the loading ramp of the 18-wheeler in order to cut the driver out of the Subaru. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver’s 5-year-old child was also extricated, and was taken to an area hospital.
Police have not filed any charges against the truck driver. The investigation into the incident is active.
