HOUSTON, TX – One man was taken into custody after street racing led to a collision involving an HPD patrol car early Wednesday morning.
According to ABC 13, the accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-10 in Wayside.
Investigators believe three vehicles were racing on the interstate when one of them collided with the rear of the HPD SUV. The force of the initial impact pushed the SUV into the rear of a wrecker truck.
Fortunately, no major injuries were reported as a result of the crash. The driver is facing a number of charges related to the incident.
The other two vehicles involved fled the scene.
