HOUSTON, TX – A driver is dead after he was struck by a truck that allegedly ran a red light in northern Houston on Tuesday morning, reports KTRK.
At around 5:50 a.m., a Ford F-150 sped through a red light at N Sam Houston Pkwy and JFK Blvd, and slammed into a Nissan.
According to police, the force of the impact caused the vehicles to knock down multiple signs and a light post before colliding with a Ford Expedition that was at the red light.
The driver of the Nissan, an unidentified male, suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
First responders hospitalized the driver of the Ford with minor injuries.
Police do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash. They have not filed charges yet, but are continuing their investigations.
