HOUSTON, TX – An elderly man has died as the results of injuries sustained in a collision on Tidwell Road earlier this month, according to the Houston Police Department.
The collision happened in the road’s 7800 block at about 11:15 a.m. on May 5. Jospeh Stelly, 90, was driving too fast for conditions when his Ford Taurus rear-ended a blue Ford Expedition, pushing it into a green Ford Explorer. The Explorer was in turn pushed into an 18-wheeler cab, which was then forced into a black Ford F-150.
Stelly was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition, and from there was transferred to hospice care. He died there on Monday, May 17.
It is unclear whether anyone else was injured. Further investigations are ongoing.
