News: Minivan crashes into store during robbery attempt in NW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A minivan crashed into the front of a Kroger grocery store early Thursday during an armed robbery attempt in northwest Houston, reports KHOU11.

The incident occurred at 13133 Veterans Memorial Drive at around 3:45 a.m.

Four suspects, including three men and a woman, tried to perform an ATM smash-and-grab robbery that resulted in the crash. At least two of the suspects appeared to be carrying handguns, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said moments after the crash, all four fled the scene on foot without taking anything.

A few employees were working in the store during the event, but no injuries have been reported.
