KATY, TX – One woman was killed and several other people injured after a driver crashed into a group of people standing outside of a restaurant in Katy Thursday morning.
According to the Associated Press, the driver, a man in his 20s, intentionally struck the crowd that had gathered outside of the Pinchy’s Tex-Mex restaurant on N. Mason Road at about 1 a.m.
A 35-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. Another person was transported in serious condition and several other sustained minor injuries.
The driver attempted to flee but returned to the parking lot a short time later and was taken into custody.
