One dead, four hurt after two-vehicle wreck near Langwood

HOUSTON, TX — A 27-year-old woman died last Thursday night after a two-vehicle collision that injured four others in Houston’s Langwood neighborhood, according to The Leader.

The crash happened at 11800 Hempstead Road near Lumberdale Road on October 14, shortly after 11:00 p.m.

According to Houston Police, a 59-year-old woman was driving a Honda Accord southbound on the road when she attempted to make a left turn. As it turned, the Honda crossed the center line and into oncoming traffic where it collided head-on with a Toyota Camry going south on Hempstead.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to Texas Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.

Four other occupants were taken to local hospitals with undisclosed injuries. It was not immediately clear which vehicle they were in at the time.

Police said the driver of the causing Honda was not reported injured.

No charges have been filed in the week following the accident. An investigation remains ongoing.
