HOUSTON, TX — A 55-year-old man was fatally injured last Friday evening when he was struck by a vehicle in northwest Houston’s Langwood neighborhood, according to Houston Police Department.
The incident occurred in the 6500 block of West 43rd Street, just west of U.S. Highway 290, at around 7:10 p.m.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division found the pedestrian was crossing main traffic lanes on the road when he was hit by a driver in a red Toyota Tundra pickup truck.
Medics rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene and was released after being questioned by officers. No impairment was suspected.
An early investigation indicates the victim failed to stop and yield to traffic, and no charges are currently expected to be filed.
