HOUSTON, TX — A 21-year-old man died last Friday night after being struck by a vehicle in southeast Houston’s Greater Hobby Area, according to Houston Police Department.
The fatal incident occurred in the 10100 block of Telephone Road on December 17, at around 9:20 p.m.
An early investigation by the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division indicates the victim was trying to cross the roadway, and was not in a marked crosswalk, when he was hit by a 21-year-old driver in a black Chrysler 300.
Medics rushed the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital – Texas Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities said the driver, who remained at the scene, was questioned by officers. He was later charged with driving while intoxicated after showing signs of impairment at the scene.
