HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed in a hit-and-run incident early Tuesday morning on the service road of State Highway 288 on the South Side, according to the Houston Police Department.
According to Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Senior Officer R. Saenz, the man was walking in the service road at 8600 South Freeway when he was struck by an unknown, northbound vehicle. The victim of the hit-and-run was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working to identify him at this time.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident did not remain at the scene to cooperate with authorities. Police investigations are still ongoing and Houston authorities have asked for anyone who may have new information to contact them.
