HOUSTON, TX — One person died early Sunday after a two-vehicle accident that injured another in Houston’s Southbelt/Ellington neighborhood, according to Houston Chronicle.

The crash occurred in the 10700 block of Hughes Road shortly after 1:00 a.m.

According to Houston police, the victim was driving at high speed when they collided with another vehicle that was leaving a stop sign.

The speeding driver died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries, but they were listed in stable condition.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the fatal incident, but an investigation remains underway.
