HARRIS COUNTY, TX — Two people died late Saturday night after their car was struck by a pickup truck while backing out of a Crosby driveway, according to ABC13.
The collision occurred on Farm to Market Road 1942 near Camino del Rancho Road at around 11:20 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a 2021 Nissan Versa was backing out of a driveway on FM 1942 when it was hit by a 2012 Toyota Tundra pickup truck.
The crash sent the Versa into a nearby ditch and caused a passenger in the car to eject. Both the passenger and the Versa’s driver were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the Tundra, whose truck was also thrown into the ditch, was transported to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Authorities said the man admitted to having been impaired at the time of the fatal accident. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated upon his release from the hospital.
An investigation remained in progress as of Sunday.
