HOUSTON, TX — Two people died Wednesday after a rollover collision that involved a driver jumping off an overpass on Tomball Parkway in northwest Houston, according to Click2Houston.
The crash happened in the 15400 block of the southbound parkway at North Sam Houston Tollway.
Authorities said two vehicles collided and, shortly after, one of the drivers exited their vehicle and jumped off the highway overpass. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in his vehicle suffered critical injuries and was transported by airlift to a local hospital. One other passenger in the other vehicle also sustained undisclosed injuries and had to be transported.
Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables later confirmed a second person had died, but it was unclear whether the victim was one of the transported patients.
All southbound lanes of the parkway were closed to traffic as crews and investigators worked the scene.
An investigation remains ongoing.
