HOUSTON, TX — A woman in her 50s died early Wednesday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in southeast Houston, according to KHOU11.
The crash took place in the 5400 block of Selinsky Road near the Martin Luther King Boulevard intersection at around midnight.
An investigation found that the woman was traveling with a walker eastbound in the crosswalk when a sedan struck her and continued driving.
The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
According to police, witnesses saw two vehicles that appeared to be racing in the area at the time of the crash.
Authorities have identified the suspect vehicle as a black Lincoln MKZ sedan made in the late 2000s and bearing a silver stripe on the side. Police also believe the car sustained damage to the front passenger area.
