HOUSTON, TX — A man died early Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in north Houston’s Heather Glen neighborhood, according to Houston Chronicle.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene in the 8800 block of Ella Boulevard at approximately 3:22 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the cyclist was riding northbound an an inside lane when a vehicle hit him from the back and continued driving. The bicycle landed in the middle of a northbound inside lane, where it was struck by another vehicle that also fled the scene.
The cyclist was discovered lying in a nearby grass median. EMS personnel said he died from his injuries at the scene.
No other details have been released at this time, but an investigation by HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division was underway.
