HOUSTON, TX — One person died Friday night after being ejected in a crash on the West Loop North Freeway near Houston’s Lazybrook/Timbergrove neighborhood, according to KHOU11.
The fatal collision occurred on the northbound lanes of the freeway, near the U.S. Highway 290 onramp, shortly before 5:49 p.m.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the accident, but authorities said the driver lost control before colliding with multiple barrel dividers. The victim was thrown from the vehicle in the crash and fell 30 to 50 feet onto the roadway below, where they were hit by an oncoming vehicle.
No other injuries were reported in the event, and no further information has been released.
An investigation was in progress.
