HOUSTON, TX – A driver fatally collided with a mother who had exited her vehicle to check on her children following a hit-and-run crash on Hwy 59 SB near Kingwood Dr Sunday.
According to ABC 13, the mother was driving a red sedan when she was rear-ended by another driver, who then fled the scene.
The victim then exited her vehicle and that is when the driver of a truck collided with her. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene around 7 p.m.
Authorities do not believe impairment played a role in the crash and no charges are expected to be filed against the truck driver.
