Driver killed after multi-vehicle wreck on SH-6 in NW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A man died Saturday night after a multi-vehicle accident that critically injured his juvenile daughter on State Highway 6 North in northwest Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision occurred on the 9300 SH-6 at around 10:47 p.m.

According to authorities, the man was driving a 2015 Toyota Sienna southbound on the highway when he failed to maintain his lane and veered into the northbound lanes. The left side of the Sienna struck the left side of an oncoming 2020 Ford F-150, causing the pickup truck to lose control and enter the southbound lanes. The driver of a southbound 2021 Chevrolet Colorado tried to avoid hitting the F-150 and ended up in the northbound lanes, where the vehicle collided head-on with the Sienna.

The male driver of the Sienna was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver’s juvenile daughter, who was sitting in the middle left seat, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Two occupants in the F-150 and the driver of the Colorado sustained minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

An investigation byHCSO’s Vehicular Crimes Division remains ongoing.
