Driver Killed After Train Crashes Into 18-Wheeler Near Huffman

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man died Wednesday morning after a train collided with an 18-wheeler near Huffman, according to Click2Houston.

The crash happened near the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1960 and Farm to Market Road 2100. It was first reported at 7:43 a.m. by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez with Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the truck driver appeared to have been parked on the tracks while waiting in line with other vehicles as the train approached. The train then struck the truck, causing it to catch fire.

The driver of the truck died at the scene, confirmed the Sheriff’s Office.

All lanes around the tracks were closed for multiple hours as crews worked to clear the scene.

An investigation was in progress as of Wednesday morning.
