Driver Fatally Injured in Crash Near Houston Baptist University

HOUSTON, TX — A driver died Friday morning in a single-vehicle collision near Houston Baptist University, reports ABC13.

The accident took place in the 7200 block of Beechnut Street, near Fondren Road.

A preliminary investigation shows the victim was driving west on the road when they struck the median and lost control of their car. The vehicle then rammed through a fence before coming to a stop.

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital where they died from their injuries.

Houston police and fire crews responded to the scene where both eastbound and westbound lanes on Beechnut Street were shut down.

No further information has been released on the possible cause of the crash.
