HOUTON, TX — A man died Friday night after being struck by a vehicle in Houston’s Golfcrest/Bellfort/Reveille neighborhood, according to Houston Chronicle.
Houston Police Department’s vehicular crimes division said the fatal incident occurred in the 6900 block of Bellfort Avenue.
A man was crossing the road when he was hit by a blue Nissan Sentra.
An investigation shows the causing vehicle continued driving, failing to stop and render aid. After traveling down the road and away from the scene, the male driver and female passenger got out of the car to switch seats. They were seen driving a mile away before both occupants abandoned the vehicle, which was later recovered by police.
At the time of the department’s media briefing, the suspects had not yet been located.
It is unknown whether the victim died at the scene or at a hospital, but authorities said several witnesses assisted him after the crash.
