HOUSTON, TX — A driver was hospitalized early Wednesday after an 18-wheeler overturned on Interstate 610 North Loop near Houston’s Independence Heights area, according to ABC13.
The accident happened on the westbound lanes of the interstate approaching the I-45 merge shortly after 7:00 a.m.
Few details have been reported at this time, but first responders had to extricate the driver from the big rig before transporting him by ambulance to a hospital. His condition has not been disclosed, but authorities said he appeared conscious and alert.
The event left all westbound lanes closed for nearly four hours.
