HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are investigating the cause of a hit-and-run crash that took the life of a 45-year-old woman last weekend.
According to a report by the Houston Police Department, the May 29th crash took place at about 2:20 a.m. within the 1200 block of South I-610 West.
Investigators believe the driver of a Chevrolet Cruz was westbound on the interstate when they collided with the rear of a Dodge Journey. The force of the impact sent the Dodge into the rear of a Volkswagen Jetta, and ejecting and passenger in the Dodge.
The driver of the at-fault vehicle immediately fled the scene on foot. The female passenger in the Dodge was rushed to the hospital, where she later died.
