HOUSTON, TX – A suspect was killed after leading police on an extensive chase in Houston on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a report by Houston Police, the chase began at about 2 p.m. when police stopped the driver of a suspected stolen pickup truck within the 12700 block of Enchanted Path.
The suspect fled the crash, leading police on a pursuit that continued to the 4500 block of North McCarty Street. The unidentified suspect then lost control of the truck and drifted into the dirt shoulder before colliding with a light pole at a high rate of speed.
The truck then burst into flames, trapping the driver inside. The suspect, whose name is being withheld at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene.
