KINGWOOD, TX – A patient died Saturday after suffering severe burn injuries in a hospital northeast of Houston, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.
Denise Jill Asaro, 69, was being treated for COVID-19 on the fifth floor of the North Tower at HCA Houston Kingwood at the time of the incident.
Medical personnel were attempting to revive Asaro with a defibrillator when it started a fire, which in turn led to a small explosion. Asaro’s upper torso was badly burned as a result.
An autopsy has been scheduled, and an investigation is being conducted by the Houston Police Department.
