HOUSTON, TX — A woman died early Sunday in a suspected drunk driving crash that hospitalized two others near Houston’s Westbury neighborhood, according to KHOU11.
The collision occurred in the 11800 block of Chimney Rock Road near Gasmer Drive at approximately 3:00 a.m.
A witness told police they saw the suspect driver run a red light moments before striking another car at the intersection.
A woman who was a passenger in the suspect’s vehicle died at the scene, authorities confirmed.
Two occupants in the other involved vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, but are expected to survive.
Police said they took the suspect driver in for an evaluation after she displayed signs of intoxication. She is now facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
