HOUSTON, TX – A teen was killed following a burglary and ensuing police chase on US-59 early Friday morning.
According to a report by the Houston Chronicle, police responded to a reported burglar at a car dealership within the 18000 block of US-59.
Upon arrival, officers noticed a gray Dodge Charge speed away from a parking lot across the street. Police chased the driver for several miles before losing them near Hardy Toll Road.
Moments later, the suspect vehicle was found to crash into the median and fully engulfed in flames near Sam Houston Tollway. The 18-year-old driver was rushed to the hospital, where he died a short time later.
No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
