HOUSTON, TX — A woman was hospitalized early Sunday after a motorcycle crash involving a Houston Police Department sergeant near Houston’s Rice Military area, reports ABC13.
An HPD sergeant was traveling on Washington Avenue toward Studemont Street at around 2:00 a.m. when a BMW suddenly pulled out in front of him. Shortly after, the sergeant struck a woman on a motorcycle who was traveling behind the BMW.
Investigators say the motorcyclist had run a red light.
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening. She was issued a citation for running the red light.
No further information has been reported on whether the driver of the BMW was cited.
